Fron Rafel is a newly established site situated in the heart of rural West Wales, conveniently accessed via the A484 Carmarthen to Cardigan road. Located just 10 miles from Cardigan and 18 miles from Carmarthen, it offers an ideal base for exploring the region’s natural beauty.
Our site includes seven touring pitches, a four-berth static caravan and a recently updated yurt.
Each touring pitch is generously sized, equipped with electric hook-ups (EHU) and water and situated with comfort in mind. For added convenience, we offer shower blocks, including a wet room, which are available to all our camping guests, along with a small kitchen area. We warmly welcome dogs at Fron Rafel, though we ask that they are kept on leads while on-site. Please note, we cannot accommodate any banned breeds.
The four-berth static caravan is well-appointed with a double bedroom, complete with en-suite toilet and sink and a twin single bedroom.Bedding is provided for added ease and towels are supplied in the bathroom, which also includes a shower, toilet, and sink. The caravan’s kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, gas hob, kettle and cutlery, while the living area features a table with four chairs, two sofas and a television. Outside, a fenced, decked area awaits, furnished with a table and chairs to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Our yurt provides a unique glamping experience. It includes a private fenced area with outdoor seating, overlooking a small natural pond home to large koi carp. A small lean-to is equipped with a fridge and kettle for convenience, while a nearby shared kitchen offers cutlery, plates, cups, a table and chairs. The yurt itself has a double bed and two chairs that convert into single beds, making it versatile for families or groups. A wood-burning stove provides warmth during cooler nights, and we provide all bedding and towels.
Fron Rafel spans seven acres, with access to a section of the garden for leisurely walks and a fenced-off dog area where dogs can be let off the lead.
Only three miles from the site is Newcastle Emlyn, a charming town filled with unique shops and local culture. Additionally, nearby pubs, such as The Lamb of Rhos and The Daffodil, offer local dining, though reservations are recommended. For those who love the outdoors, the River Teifi meanders through the valley, providing a wealth of scenic trails for both novice walkers and seasoned ramblers. Cenarth Falls, located just five miles away, is home to the Welsh Coracle Centre and a selection of shops and a pub. Adventure-seekers will find Cardigan full of options, including canoeing excursions on the river, perfect for a day of exploration.
