Larkhill is a family-run glamping site offering stunning accommodation on the edge of a 20 acre smallholding and woodland with a sculpture trail. It's a great place for kids to safely roam, explore nature, make friends, make dens and become kids again! Nestled in glorious countryside, not far from the Cardigan Bay coastline, we boast stunning views and a tranquil setting, perfect for a magical getaway. Our unique glamping accommodation is a great base for exploring a range of attractions in Carmarthenshire.
We have 3 gorgeous yurts which enjoy an individual feel and boast luxurious facilities, offering the perfect alternative to the traditional camping experience:
The Bentwood Yurt: The wooden frame for the Bentwood yurt, the walls and the roof timbers, are made of oak, offering an amazing retreat to stay in. The spacious yurt has a wood stove, bedding, wooden chest shelves, table, gas burner and 2 singles and a double bed.
The Alachigh: This is a dome-shaped yurt/tipi which offers accommodation for 6 people on 4 single beds and 1 double. The accommodation includes a wood-burning stove and all the facilities that the Bentwood has plus a sofa bed/settee. Outside the yurt/tipi there is a large picnic bench and a camp fire area, together with a trivet if you'd like to cook over an open fire and stunning views of the Welsh countryside.
Mongolian Ger: The Ger has 3 raised pine beds (one double and two singles), great for a family or romantic getaway. The yurt is in a secluded location on the edge of four acres of woodland and is furnished to the highest standard, offering colourful throws and cushions, a toasty wood burner and a kitchen area.
We also have two delightful tipis to stay in, offering a memorable getaway for families and couples. Each tipi is stylishly furnished and comes with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
The Tipi: The tipi is a magnificent structure and provides surprisingly spacious accommodation for four people. It's wonderful for a romantic break away from it all! Decorated with Native American patterns, the tipi has a wood burner for the winter months, one double and two singles. Cooking facilities are also available.
The Lavvu: The Lavvu is very similar to a Native American Indian tipi in shape, offering a crown-like yurt and a quirky cocoon-like feel. Inside there is a double bed and two singles, a wood-burning stove and a kitchen area. Outside there is a private campfire area, seating and a picnic bench, a lovely spot for roasting marshmallows whilst gazing at the starry night sky.
Onsite there is a log cabin which offers a great spot to socialise and relax in with other guests. The cabin comes with lots of kitchen facilities, a wood burner, comfy seating and a dedicated tourist information area. We also have a delightful communal campfire area, plus a play area for children. The site has two hot showers, a tiled compost loo and a standard flush loo.
Our location is an ideal base for exploring south, west and mid-Wales. Larkhill is within half an hour’s drive from the Cardigan Bay coastline with its sandy beaches and spectacular scenery and is also one of the best places in the UK to see dolphins, seals and porpoises. Boat trips are available from Newquay to get an even closer look. Superb attractions to visit include:
