Description

Located in the heart of the historic Isle of Purbeck on the Jurassic Coast, Buddens Activity Centre spans 96 acres of beautiful, unspoilt countryside made up of heathland, woodland and plantations. This expansive setting provides the perfect backdrop for a wide range of activities and flexible camping options for all ages, allowing individuals to connect with the natural environment while enjoying a safe, well-supported and memorable outdoor experience led by experienced and knowledgeable staff.

Across the extensive camping fields, there are idyllic tented villages designed specifically for schools and group stays. For those seeking a more traditional experience, there is also ample space to pitch your own tents and create a personalised camping setup. We also have space for 20 campervans (sorry, no motorhomes or touring caravans).

Accommodation includes 5 and 6 metre bell tents suitable for both pupils and adults, each fitted with comfortable mattresses. A group marquee is provided with tables, benches and lighting, offering a welcoming indoor communal space throughout your stay. The site can accommodate over 300 pupils and adults, making it ideal for large school groups. Wifi is available in the reception area.

Guests staying in Rockley tents will need to bring their own pillow and sleeping bag or duvet. Toilet and shower facilities are available on site, including accessible facilities for those with additional needs.

Activities at Buddens include abseiling, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, archery, disc golf, leap of faith, zip wire and much more, see our website for more activities. You can book into up to 4 sessions a day.

Wareham and its surroundings in Dorset offer a mix of history, nature and family-friendly attractions. You can explore the ancient earthworks of the Saxon town at the Wareham Saxon Walls and learn about local heritage at the Wareham Town Museum. Riverside walks along the River Frome and around Purbeck Park offer peaceful outdoor time, while nature lovers will enjoy the wildlife and habitats at RSPB Arne, Worgret Heath and Stoborough Heath National Nature Reserve. A short drive away, Corfe Castle stands dramatically over Purbeck and is excellent for history and views and The Blue Pool is a scenic former clay pit with colourful waters and woodland walks. For families, Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park offers a fun day out, and Kimmeridge Bay provides beautiful coastal scenery perfect for fossil hunting and seaside exploration.
