Brig’s Farm is a 12‑acre small‑holding tucked into the hills of West Dorset, just two miles from the Jurassic Coast. The surrounding landscape of winding, hedgerow‑lined lanes and a network of public footpaths creates a peaceful setting, while the fossil‑rich beach at Charmouth and the seaside town of Lyme Regis are only a short drive away.
The campsite is deliberately informal and quiet, offering sea views, campfires and birdsong instead of amplified music or late‑night parties. Guests share compost toilets and complimentary hot showers and well‑behaved dogs are welcome.
On summer weekends we fire up a wood‑burning oven for pizza nights. Dates vary with demand and weather, so it’s best to email early in the week to secure a place; group bookings can be arranged on request. The Coffee Shack will also be open this season, serving a full selection of drinks made with ethically sourced beans from Rave Coffee, along with homemade cake. It usually operates on holiday mornings and summer weekends.
For those after something a little different, two converted Bedford lorries on the farm have been transformed into characterful, self‑contained accommodation.
Bedford TK
Lovingly converted from a classic British lorry, this adults‑only retreat sits alone in its own field overlooking Lyme Bay, where a chestnut‑and‑fir sun terrace with a wood‑fired hot tub and fire‑pit lets you soak or sit out under the stars while taking in the sweeping sea and valley views. Inside, thick wool insulation and a wood‑burning stove keep the space comfortable year‑round; at one end a handmade kitchen offers a full‑size gas cooker, filtered spring water at an oak wash‑station, a cool box and all the essentials, while at the other a raised double bed dressed in luxury British‑wool bedding faces a porthole window framing the horizon. A leather sofa, solar‑powered lighting with USB charging and plentiful curtained windows lend an airy yet cosy feel. Outside you’ll find a private compost loo in the field plus shared showers on the main site. Designed for two guests and no pets, the lorry combines off‑grid charm with thoughtful comforts, making it an inviting hideaway in every season.
Bedford MJ
Situated at the top of its own field with sweeping views of the sea and the opposite valley, this adults‑only lorry offers fully equipped, year‑round accommodation for two, its wool insulation and wood‑burning stove ensuring cosy comfort whatever the season. Inside, a 9 ft × 8 ft living‑kitchen area holds a handmade kitchen with full‑size gas cooker, sink, utensils and pantry essentials, a table for two, a sofa beside the stove and a solar‑powered 12 V system for lighting and USB charging; an electric cool box sits beneath the vehicle for chilled supplies. The adjoining 6 ft × 8 ft bedroom features a raised double bed with luxury British‑wool topper, cotton linens and curtained windows that fill the space with light and fresh air. Outside, an oak wash‑station with Belfast sink dispenses filtered spring water, while a terrace‑side fire pit invites evenings of stargazing or open‑fire cooking. A private compost loo stands behind the lorry and guests can use the campsite’s shower block down the hill, making this hideaway a practical yet charming off‑grid escape.
