Pipcott Fields is a family-run campsite set in the heart of West Down village in North Devon, offering a welcoming base surrounded by lovely countryside.
The campsite extends over 5.5 acres divided into three fields, with the main lower field, around 2.5 acres, dedicated to fully serviced pitches. The remaining fields provide open space to wander, walk the dog, spread out a picnic while taking in views over the village, or enjoy outdoor games with family and friends.
We have 20 pitches in total, 16 grass pitches can be booked between the 1st April and the 1st October. The 4 fully serviced hardstanding pitches can be booked all year round. We welcome tents, touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes.
Grass pitches are clearly numbered and generously sized at 8 metres wide by 10 metres deep, with a 4-metre fire and safety gap between pitches. Each has a picnic bench, general waste bin, access to free site Wi-Fi, a nearby mains drinking water tap and electric hook-up. Hardstanding pitches measure 12 metres by 10 metres, with a mix of hardcore and grass and include two drinking water taps, two electric hook-ups, grey waste drainage, low-level lighting, a picnic bench, waste bin and Wi-Fi access.
The modern facilities block features four fully partitioned family bathrooms, one accessible bathroom that can also be used by families and a separate toilet room. Each bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, toilet, sink, mirror, shaving point, soap dispenser, hand dryer, towel rail and plenty of hooks. Motion-sensor lighting and extractor fans are fitted throughout and there are two washing-up sinks with draining boards at the end of the building. Outside, a small patio with seating leads up to a pleasant lawned garden area where guests can relax.
Located in the centre of the village, the campsite is just a short stroll from The Crown Inn for food and drinks, as well as the village shop, which stocks everyday essentials and delicious local produce including fresh meat, bread, cakes, pies, pasties and Devon clotted cream.
In and around West Down near Ilfracombe, there’s plenty to explore along the stunning North Devon coast. Visit the dramatic cliffs and coastal walks at Valley of Rocks, or spend a day on the sandy shores of Woolacombe Beach, perfect for families and surfers alike. Ilfracombe Harbour is great for seaside strolls, boat trips and cafés, while the scenic trails of Exmoor National Park offer breathtaking views, wildlife and peaceful countryside just a short drive away.
Rates: From £26 - £46 per pitch per night (includes up to 2 adults, 3 children and 3 dogs).
