Hunters Lodge is a small, adults-only Freedom Camping Certified site located on the outskirts of the estuary village of Starcross. Set within 10 acres of its own peaceful grounds, it offers an ideal setting for a quiet countryside escape. Surrounded by the natural beauty of South Devon, it’s a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife. Owls can often be heard at night, deer occasionally wander through the valley and a kingfisher makes a daily visit to the nearby lake.
The site offers a range of facilities to make your stay comfortable. There are hot showers available for a small additional charge, including a private bathroom with a toilet, hand basin and shower. All pitches include a standard 16-amp electric hook-up. A laundry room is available with a washing machine, deep sink and an ice-pack freezer and there's a stainless steel chemical disposal point for added convenience.
Hunters Lodge is well situated for exploring the local area. It’s just off the A379 between Exeter and Dawlish, and a five-minute walk down the lane brings you to a bus stop with regular services between Exeter and Newton Abbot, continuing on to Torquay. For those who enjoy cycling, the Exe Estuary Trail runs nearby as part of the National Cycle Network, offering scenic routes to Dawlish Warren Beach, Dawlish, Exeter and even as far as Exmouth and beyond.
