Dartmoor Yurt Holidays offers glamping accommodation in Poundsgate, set in the heart of the Devon countryside on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Surrounded by unspoilt landscapes and offering complete privacy, it provides an ideal escape from the stresses of everyday life with direct access to Dartmoor’s moorland, rivers and walking trails. A variety of popular local attractions are close by and the market town of Newton Abbot is within easy reach, making it a perfect base for exploring South Devon while enjoying a peaceful rural retreat.
Our traditional Mongolian yurts offer the ultimate in peace and seclusion, offering a truly unique experience. Both yurts offer breathtaking views and come with a range of facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The yurts are well insulated and when the wood burners are lit, the flames of the candles flicker in the Moroccan lanterns, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Lake Yurt: This yurt is situated on the banks of a small lake, where you can see wildlife and there is a little rowing boat tied to the handmade wooden jetty. You can stroll along the rustic bridge to the toilet and shower which are housed in the bluebell carpeted woodland.
Sunshine Yurt: This cosy yurt is next to a babbling brook in a scenic meadow. From your yurt, you can admire views of the horses grazing. Children have lots of open space to play and can play on the swing.
Each yurt comes with its own rustic kitchen, compost toilet and wood-fire shower. You can also enjoy gathering around your own firepit with friends or family while gazing at the starry night sky.
We also have a bell tent, static caravan and a converted truck available – please enquire for details.
Our yurts have direct access to open moorland in all directions, allowing you to take advantage of the natural beauty in the surrounding area. One of the oldest pubs in England, the Tavistock Inn, is just down the road from the farm and the nearest town is Ashburton, where you find several antique shops, delis and cafes.
