Cheglinch Farm Glamping is in a beautiful part of Devon, just a short drive away from the sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton and Putsborough. We have glamping and wild camping available in separate locations, making us the perfect base for those who want a break away from the stresses of modern living.
Glamping: Tucked away in one of our sheltered fields, it is the perfect place for those who want to connect with nature. The 3 Lotus Belle tents are each set on a wooden standing within their own distinct area in our 4 acre field. They are far enough away from each other to offer privacy but close enough for friends or family to come glamping together in separate tents. Each luxurious tent will comfortably sleep 4 on proper beds and mattresses (1 double, 2 singles) made up ready for your arrival. Children will love the cow themed duvet covers. There is room for an additional baby (travel cot provided but please bring your own cot bedding and linen) or a toddler (if you wish to bring your own small inflatable bed and bedding). Private toilet, fully equipped outdoor kitchen (including gas barbecue) and shower room are provided.
The play barn is open for use by all glampers. It houses games and activities for children, a dining table and chairs allocated for each tent and shared fridge, freezer, microwave and laundry facilities. It’s perfect for a rainy day (although we hope not to have many of these).
Children will love the open space where they can run and play freely. They are welcome to say hello to our animals. We have guinea pigs and chickens on site, calves nearby, and cows and tractors can often be seen in the fields within the hamlet. As we have animals on site we are, unfortunately, unable to accommodate guests’ dogs on our glamping site.
Wild Camping: This pops up in a field on the outskirts of our farm for a short time in the summer. Here we offer plenty of open space, amazing views and a chance to lie back, relax, listen to the sounds of the countryside and gaze at the night sky. Dogs are welcome so this is truly a break for all the family. As this is a completely rural location, well away from houses and amenities, the facilities are basic allowing you to experience true wild camping. A main’s water tap providing fresh drinking water, a sink with cold water for washing up and toilet facilities are provided. Showers are not available but you are welcome to bring your own portable one.
The village of West Down is within walking distance and offers a pub, community shop and playing field. Ilfracombe is only a few minutes’ drive away and hosts all you would expect of a seaside town with high street shops, supermarkets, banks, a public swimming pool, cinema and theatre. The attractive harbour features Damian Hirst’s well known statue ‘Verity’, as well as offering fishing trips, trips to Lundy Island (see if you can spot the puffins on Lundy) and the chance to eat fish and chips by the sea. A visit to the Victorian tunnels beaches should also be on everyone’s list of things to do. It is steeped in history and features tidal bathing pools and fantastic rock pools.
