Hideaway Camping in Northlew, Okehampton, offers a unique glamping experience in a glorious setting. Located in 24 acres of private countryside, we are perfect for a rural retreat away in Devon. We offer an eclectic glamping experience to suit all tastes. We are the perfect place to let yourself relax, unwind, connect with nature and feel refreshed and revived.
Forest Glamp
Forrest Glamp is our rainforest-themed double-decker bus! Perfect for an adventurous or quirky getaway, it blends original features with a jungle vibe. The top deck sleeps six with a double bed, bunk bed, sofa bed and a lounge area for relaxation. The lower deck features a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker, fridge/freezer, seating area, and a breakfast bar. You can even enjoy dinner in the back row seats! Outside, in the bus shelter, you'll find your private toilet and shower, and a picnic bench for alfresco dining, letting you soak up the unique Hideaway atmosphere.
Rosie
Our restored bowtop Gypsy caravan is perfect for a secluded romantic escape. Inside, you'll find a comfy double bed, seating area and storage, with a log burner to keep you cosy on chilly nights. Next to the caravan, a charming little shelter offers extra space to cook or relax.
Jabba
Lovingly restored, our shepherd's hut is both spacious and intimate, filled with rustic charm. Inside, you'll find a cosy separate bedroom and a living area with a table, chairs, storage and an Agas heater to keep you warm. Overlooking the trees and just a short walk from the stream, it’s the perfect spot to relax, watch the buzzards and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
Iglulu
Iglulu is our unique glamping igloo, offering a cool, sleek and spacious dome perfect for couples or families seeking a unique getaway. Inside, you'll find a double bunk bed with room for an additional single mattress, plus a gas cooker and heating. Each igloo features outdoor seating, a fire pit, hammocks and stunning views, ideal for stargazing, unwinding and reconnecting with nature.
Iglula:
Iglulu features a double bunk bed with the option to add a single mattress if needed, along with a gas cooker and heating for your comfort. Both igloos offer outdoor seating, a fire pit, hammocks and stunning views.
Excella
Our incredible 80's American Airstream offers a one-of-a-kind glamping experience at Hideaway. Accommodating up to 5 people, it features a separate double bedroom with a double bed, sink, shower, wardrobe and storage. The living area includes a fully equipped kitchen, fridge, cooker, log burner, sofa bed and seating area. Additional electric heaters provide extra comfort, while the spacious front decking is perfect for sunbathing & stargazing.
Little Owl Pod
Inside our Owl Pod, you'll find a double bed and a top bunk that can accommodate two children, with enough floor space for an additional bed, so it's more spacious than you might expect! The pod also includes a folding camping table, four stools, solar lighting and an outdoor fire pit. You can bring your own bedding and cooking utensils, or opt to hire sleeping bags, camping pillows and a box of cutlery and crockery for alfresco dining. Please note, there is no electricity in the pod.
Our 4-acre camping field features 13 generously spaced tent pitches, each around 8 square metres and equipped with its own fire pit, with willow screening for added privacy. Compost toilets are located at both ends of the field, and a shower block sits next to a small camping shop that offers essentials like logs and marshmallows. There's ample space for children and adults to roam, with a communal fire pit at "Hideaway Henge" for evening gatherings, a play area, hidden swings and hedgerows to explore. In the next field, you'll find a fairy glade, friendly pigs and a pond, while the nearby woods offer a hammock garden, picnic spots and a streamside walk.
