Stonehenge Campsite & Glamping

Berwick St James, Salisbury, Wiltshire

Description

Stonehenge Campsite & Glamping is a small and secluded site located close to the iconic stones of the World Heritage Site. This four-acre, family-run campsite offers a peaceful setting while being the nearest outdoor accommodation to the famous monument.

Guests can enjoy a range of convenient facilities, including sinks, a dishwashing area and a heated shower block equipped with brand-new, piping hot power showers.

There are a trio of hard‑standing options that cater to different needs while keeping comfort firmly in mind. Bronze pitches sit on gravel at the top of Meadow Field and come with water and electricity, making them a great choice for campervans and motorhomes up to 7.5 metres. Tucked away in a quieter, gated corner of the site, Silver pitches feel like individual garden plots, each framed by hedging and supplied with nearby water and electric hook‑up — perfect for motorhomes, caravans and campervans that like a little extra breathing room. For maximum convenience, the Gold pitches lie beside Meadow Field and add their own drainage connection to the inclusive water and electricity, with widths generous enough for a caravan plus awning and space to spread out around the private picnic bench.

If you prefer grass beneath your feet, Meadow Field provides sweeping views over Winterbourne Stoke’s ancient church and welcomes everything from tents to motorhomes, with the option of electric hook‑up or a back‑to‑basics, off‑grid stay. Those drawn to evenings around the flames can choose the Campfire Field, where two purpose‑built fire areas are available to hire and a large communal fire can be rented; again, pitches are offered with or without electric hook‑up so you can decide how rustic you want to be.

Whichever pitch you pick, the pubs in Berwick Saint James and Winterbourne Stoke are an easy walk away, wardens are on hand to help and the essential amenities of the campsite, from hot showers to takeaway deliveries are never more than a short stroll across the grass.

Stonehenge Campsite’s award‑winning glamping offers everything from the wood‑burning Solstice Retreat yurt to the log‑heated Shepherd’s Hut, each cocooned in its own little garden with a picnic bench and fire‑pit barbecue for starlit evenings. Couples can choose to stay in the Butterfly, Eden or Moon pods where a fridge keeps drinks cold, sockets charge the essentials and outdoor furniture invites you to linger beside the flames, while families could choose the seasonal Bellamy bell tent with its double bed and two singles. Adventurers on a budget can pick the Festival Pod, a simple timber hideaway on decking that keeps costs down by asking guests to bring their own bedding and anyone seeking something truly quirky can climb into the traditional Gypsy Wagon, which sleeps two adults and a child. Whatever style you choose, you will find tea‑and‑coffee facilities, electric hook‑up and plenty of power points inside, with the site’s modern hot‑shower block only a short wander across the grass.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, including:

Stonehenge.
Salisbury Cathedral.
Old Sarum.
The Salisbury Museum.
