Lochside Caravan Park is located beside Carlingwark Loch in Castle Douglas, offering picturesque views across the water while being just a short walk from the town centre. Its position near the A75 Euroroute makes it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.
The park provides 100 caravan or motorhome pitches with a mix of hard-standing and grass surfaces, along with a large separate area for tents (50 tent pitches). 10-amp electric hook-up available on the service pitches. Visitors have access to two toilet and shower blocks, including disabled facilities, as well as laundry services and dishwashing sinks. Fresh water is available throughout the site and there are facilities for dirty water and elsan disposal. Access to the site and its amenities is controlled by a swipe card system issued at the warden’s office upon arrival and 24-hour CCTV coverage ensures added security.
Guests can enjoy a range of on-site amenities, including two children’s play areas, boating on the loch and free fishing for residents. Several scenic walking routes of varying lengths allow visitors to take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Nearby attractions include Threave Castle and its estate, the Red Kite trail and feeding station and the magnificent Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park. Castle Douglas itself, known as Dumfries and Galloway’s Food Town, offers an excellent selection of shops, eateries and services to meet all visitor needs.
