Situated just south of York, The Riverfront boasts a picturesque riverside setting, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the majestic Bishopthorpe Palace. As a family-owned establishment, we're dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where everyone can find something to enjoy. Our offerings include a diverse menu of food and drinks, options for day boat, canoe and kayak rentals, distinctive overnight stays and permanent moorings.
The Riverfront is home to caravan pitches, accommodating caravans, motorhomes and campervans. (Sorry, no tents please).

Primrose Shepherd's Hut
Primrose is a charming traditional-style shepherd’s hut at The Riverfront York, thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and convenience in a compact space. Rosebud Cabin
Rosebud Cabin is a delightful four-berth retreat, featuring sturdy double bunk beds and a bright, welcoming interior ideal for families or small groups. Overlooking the children’s play area, outdoor seating space and a graceful willow tree, the cabin enjoys a pleasant and relaxing setting. Fully equipped for a spontaneous break, Rosebud Cabin has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Its charming front deck provides a lovely spot to unwind with a morning coffee or tea while taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Chestnut Cabin
Chestnut Cabin is fully prepared for a relaxing stay from the moment you arrive, with fresh bedding, soft towels and thoughtful essentials all provided. Guests can enjoy tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV, heating for year-round comfort and a selection of board games for cosy evenings in. Outside, a private deck with table and chairs offers a peaceful space to savour a morning coffee or unwind with a chilled drink at sunset. With its snug feather duvet and warm, inviting atmosphere, Chestnut Cabin is an ideal choice for a spontaneous escape.
Honey Cabin Shepherds Hut
This charming shepherd’s hut offers a cleverly designed space complete with its own private toilet facilities, a compact kitchenette and a comfortable living area. The cosy log burner creates a warm and inviting retreat during the colder months, while the outdoor patio provides the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air in warmer weather. Ideally suited to couples, it makes a great choice for a midweek escape or a relaxing weekend break.
The Ark
The Ark is the largest accommodation on site and offers guests exclusive use of a private four-person hot tub set on the main deck. Originally the hull of the Nottingham Trader, once used for river dredging, it was carefully transformed in 2008 into a unique and spacious floating retreat ideal for weekends away with friends or family. Comfortably sleeping up to seven guests, with additional space for cots if needed, The Ark provides a memorable stay on the water. Blending character, comfort and a close connection to nature, it offers a truly distinctive escape in a tranquil riverside setting.
Bosun's Restaurant & The Riverfront Cafe Bar
Set along the tranquil riverside at The Riverfront York, Bosun’s Restaurant enjoys panoramic views and a strong focus on showcasing the best seasonal produce from across Yorkshire. Holding 2 AA Rosettes, the restaurant is known for its high standards and imaginative menus, where locally sourced ingredients are transformed into refined, contemporary dishes inspired by the region’s rich culinary heritage.
Guests can also visit the riverfront café bar, which serves a tempting selection of freshly prepared wraps, filled rolls and breakfast favourites such as sausages and eggs, alongside a regularly changing specials board. With quality ingredients and creative touches throughout, it offers a café experience that goes beyond the ordinary.
Visiting the Area
You can enjoy a scenic walk from our site to York, mostly along the River Ouse, or opt for a bus, drive, or taxi to explore the historic city. Set against a natural backdrop, The Riverfront also offers direct access to the local countryside for those eager to explore nature on foot from any of our accommodation.
