Teesdale Cheesemakers Glamping Huts in Butterknowle provide unique glamping accommodation set within 20 acres of beautiful countryside in Durham. Located on a charming smallholding filled with friendly animals, the site offers a peaceful rural retreat ideal for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature. Whether you're exploring the surrounding landscapes of Teesdale or simply enjoying the tranquillity of the farm, it's the perfect base for a memorable countryside escape.
Our two huts are tucked away over the hill, perfect for a tranquil getaway. The huts have country views and enjoy access to our two acre wood and stream. The owners of the smallholding are award winning artisan cheesemaking couple, with a little shop and cheese-centric café available, Café Cheesedale.
Ash:
Our hut is ideal for a romantic escape in the country. The cosy hut enjoys a studio style layout with a double bed, kitchen and sitting area. A shower room come with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Outside there is a hot tub to soak yourself in whilst savouring the views. There is also a decking area, great for a glass of wine in the afternoon sun. A BBQ is provided and you can huddle around the fire pit while gazing at the starry night sky.
Holly:
This hut is a haven for country lovers looking for somewhere special to stay. The studio style layout comes with a kitchen, sitting area and a double bed for a restful night’s sleep. A shower room has a walk-in shower. Outside there is a front decking area, offering a delightful spot for a coffee in the morning sun. A luxurious hot tub is perfect for enjoying a glass of bubbly in. A fire pit and BBQ is also provided.
To complement your stay you can also order a BBQ pack, a cheese tour or a cheese tasting at time of booking.
We are in the ideal location for exploring the area, with Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Durham all accessible by car. Attractions to visit include:
