Sherwood Pines is an award-winning campsite spread across 20 acres of stunning woodland, providing a peaceful and secluded forest escape in the heart of the legendary Robin Hood country. Surrounded by natural beauty, it offers the ideal setting to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature.
The pitches at Sherwood Pines are designed to suit a wide range of camping styles, from basic tent setups to fully serviced motorhome stays. Visitors can choose from grass-only pitches, grass pitches with electric hook-ups, or hardstanding pitches with electric, all typically sized around 8m x 5m and accommodating one unit plus a car. For those wanting extra convenience, there are fully serviced hardstanding pitches that include electric, fresh water and grey waste drainage.
There are also more specialised options, including smaller “narrow” serviced pitches for compact vehicles and more secluded woodland serviced pitches set in quieter glades for a more private, nature-focused experience. In addition to traditional camping, the site offers glamping accommodation such as cosy bothy pods for small groups, larger family pods and a geodome that sleeps up to six people, all equipped with comfortable beds and basic living facilities.
Sherwood Pines also offers excellent on-site facilities to enhance the camping experience. Visitors have access to free Wi-Fi, spacious family bathrooms with baby-changing areas, accessible facilities and well-maintained toilets. Additional amenities include laundry and dishwashing areas, a backpacker airing and locker room and even a dedicated bike servicing area. For those travelling with pets, there is also a purpose-built dog wash, perfect for cleaning up after a day of exploring. There is also EV Car charging available.
Open all year round, the campsite allows visitors to experience the changing beauty of the forest in every season. Whether you are looking for an active outdoor adventure or a peaceful escape, the location offers something for everyone. With scenic walking and cycling trails, fishing opportunities, exciting activities, and family-friendly attractions nearby, there is plenty to enjoy. Just a short walk from the Sherwood Pines visitor centre and Go Ape, the campsite is ideally positioned for both relaxation and adventure.
