Situated in a tranquil corner of our expansive garden in Eyam, the renowned "Plague" village, our shepherd's hut offers an escape with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Perched atop the hill, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of the village below, with the illuminated church adding a touch of enchantment to the night sky.
Designed with your comfort and relaxation in mind, our Plankbridge Shepherd's Hut B&B provides everything you need for a unique and memorable staycation experience. Painted in soothing heritage Farrow & Ball colours, the hut features a full-size double bed with a sprung mattress and a goose down duvet for a restful night's sleep.
Storage space under the bed ensures a clutter-free environment, while a wood-burning stove keeps you warm during cooler evenings, complemented by a small electric heater for added comfort. Delve into our selection of magazines, books and board games from the quaint bookcase and cosy up around the fire pit or wood burner with a blanket in hand.
Embrace a leisurely afternoon with the gentle tunes of the DAB radio, accompanied by a glass of wine poured into vintage wine glasses—an essential indulgence! For dining, enjoy breakfast at the vintage fold-out table and chairs inside the hut or savour your meal al fresco at the picnic bench outside the front door or on the new deck overlooking the field.
During lockdown, we transformed our boys' old treehouse into a charming new space for you to enjoy. Tucked away in the private field, this elevated deck offers panoramic views of the village, providing the perfect backdrop for breakfast or a sunset gin as solar lights twinkle in the evening sky.
Outside, gather around the fire pit for an evening of stargazing or utilise the BBQ in the seating area at the back of the hut. For dining out, we're happy to recommend excellent local eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
While we understand the importance of modern conveniences, we've created a separate fully heated shower/utility room just 30 metres up the garden for your comfort. Complete with hot water, an electric shower, toilet and heated towel rail, this facility ensures a refreshing start to your day.
Upon arrival, you'll find a breakfast basket stocked with tea/coffee, granola, yoghurt with seasonal fruit, bread rolls, butter and local honey or homemade preserves. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences at least 48 hours before your stay and we'll gladly accommodate your needs.
Explore the historic village of Eyam and its charming surroundings, including local shops, tea rooms, a café, pub, post office, primary school, church, museum and the historic country house, Eyam Hall. Whether you're biking, hiking, or simply soaking in the rich history and natural beauty, Eyam offers an array of activities to suit every traveller's taste.
