Groobys Pit in Thorpe St Peter offers touring and glamping accommodation in a scenic location. Situated in a peaceful countryside setting near Skegness in Lincolnshire, we are perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Our family-run campsite is a great getaway for countryside lovers. The caravan park for touring caravans and motorhomes boasts stunning views over the main lake and the nursery lake. We have 12 gravel pitches, 1 of which is dedicated just for a motorhome & the other 11 can be used by touring caravans or motorhomes. All the pitches are large, level and have 16-amp electric hook up (metered & charged) and their own tap. Two gravel pitches are situated around the nursery lake as well as 5 grass pitches, again with 16-amp electric hook up (metered & charged) and their own tap.
Nestled on the edge of the lake is "Kingfisher Lookout” a beautiful deluxe camping pod with a split-level deck & private hot tub. The open plan pod comes with an L shape bespoke seating area which converts into a double bed. A kitchen comes with a 2-ring ceramic hob and extractor fan, built-in microwave, fridge/freezer and stainless-steel sink. Facilities in the pod include a wall-hung TV/DVD player, slimline wardrobe, wall heater, plug sockets & USB points. Doors lead to a bathroom which includes a shower, toilet and vanity unit. Outside is a delightful part covered decking area with a wood burner, table and chairs, a double rocker chair and outside lights. The perfect place for a glass of wine whilst admiring the view. Steps down to a lower decked area for private fishing or further seating area also available. You can soak your muscles in the private hot tub whilst enjoying the lake views.
Squirrel Hideaway is a glamping unit in the shape of a shepherds hut. Sleeps 2 adults. This sits on the side of the lake with one private fishing peg. Squirrel Hideaway is dog friendly for 1 small or medium size dog. It has its own ensuite shower room, kitchen area, bespoke settee that turns into a double bed & TV/DVD player.
Onsite we have a high spec toilet/shower block with an indoor washing up area and a new dog shower. A dog exercise area and an onside laundrette and information pod are available.
