Hatters Meadows offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable countryside escape near Ely. Located just 2.5 miles from Ely’s historic centre and only 30 minutes from Cambridge, this peaceful campsite is ideally situated for exploring the beauty and heritage of Cambridgeshire while enjoying a relaxing stay surrounded by nature.
Set across five acres of picturesque grassland, the site features a tranquil pond, vibrant wildflowers, bird boxes and rows of newly planted trees and hedges, creating a haven for nature lovers. Guests can enjoy a scenic walk along the River Ouse directly from the site, taking in stunning views of Ely Cathedral along the way, or explore the dog-friendly four-mile circular route along Clayway Drove.
A variety of grass pitches with electric hook-up are available, suitable for tents, caravans, folding campers and motorhomes. For those seeking a more off-grid experience, wild camping pitches are also available in a separate field, offering breathtaking views and access to essential wash facilities.

Available to book year-round, it’s the perfect romantic retreat. For those seeking a family-friendly glamping experience, we also offer three beautifully crafted timber tents. Magog sleeps up to four guests with one double and two single beds, Little Trees can be arranged as a couples’ or family tent with similar sleeping arrangements, and Wandlebury, the largest of the three, accommodates up to five guests with one double bed, two single beds, and a single sofa bed.
