Strawberry Skys Yurts is situated in the rolling hills of mid-Wales only a short drive from Welshpool and provides the perfect location to simply relax and unwind, or use as a base to explore the many attractions in this beautiful part of Wales.
Our aim is to provide our guests with a retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. We have only four yurts on site and they are spaciously located so you will never feel cramped or hurried. You simply enjoy your yurt holiday at your own pace. Children can roam free, exploring their natural surroundings, or brush up on their outdoor survival skills, gathering wood, building campfires or rustling up an alfresco feast on the barbecue.
All of our yurts are fully furnished with beds, futon sofas/chairs and are heated by woodburners. Lighting is provided by electric fairy light and lamps and there are sockets for charging.
You will need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bags/duvets) and your own pillows. Outside, each yurt also has its own campfire pit, charcoal BBQ, picnic tables and benches. All wood is provided for the woodburners and campfires free of charge,
There are no additional on-site charges for anything.
Our four yurts are all different so please check carefully which you prefer. As a rough guide our biggest is Oak Yurt and will sleep up to six. Oak Yurt is actually made from two yurts joined together as one providing you with huge amounts of space, or perhaps, more importantly, a separate bedroom for mum & dad. Ash Yurt is our newest all-wooden yurt and sleeps up to four. Willow Yurt is a traditional Mongolian Yurt which will sleep up to four. Cherry Yurt is also Mongolian and will sleep up to six.
We recommend you bring the following items:
It is also nice to bring insect repellent & citronella candles if you are sitting outside at night! We are not plagued by swarms of nasty biting creatures. However, this is the outdoors and some people are more prone to getting bitten than others. So please do bring some insect repellent if you think you might need it.
The shower rooms are fully heated and contain heated towel rails as well as a hair dryer.
If you want to venture into the surrounding Powys area, there are loads of family friendly things to do, as well as a wealth of excellent pubs, restaurants and shops in the nearby market towns and villages. The area is amazing for walking, cycling, fishing, golf, kayaking, horse riding and sailing.
