Cwmcarn Forest Campsite in Crosskeys offers a tranquil and relaxing break in a stunning location, surrounded by forestry and wildlife. Our site near Newport in Glamorgan offers stunning lodges, glamping pods and camping facilities.
We offer the perfect holiday destination to reconnect with nature, nestled in a truly breathtaking setting. You can stay in one of our six new lodges which sleeps between 2 – 6 people. All the lodges are luxurious and finished to the highest standard. Each lodge comes with a fully-equipped kitchen, a shower and toilet, a TV, a full size double bed and a living area with a sofa bed. Double doors open onto a wonderful decked veranda with seating, a great spot for a morning coffee whilst savouring the view.
Based in the forest floor we have 10 magical glamping pods. All the pods are beautifully furnished and comes with a comfy double bed, a mini fridge, kettle, refreshment tray, electricity and heater. Unfurnished pods are also available.
You can enjoy a traditional camping experience at the campsite. We have grass pitches which are level and tastefully landscaped. The tent sizes can cater for six people. You also have use of shower and toilet facilities along with a laundry, kitchen and chemical waste disposal. Hard standing pitches are also for caravans, motorhomes and campervans.
While staying with us you can enjoy an adrenaline fuelled mountain bike trail or water based activity or wander along the scenic walking trials. Afterwards, grab a cuppa at the takeaway service in Raven’s Cafe.
There are several villages surrounding Cwmcarn where you will find a selection of shops and pubs. The larger town of Blackwood is a short drive away with a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Just a 15-minute walk will take you to Cwmcarn Village where there is a bike hire shop and a small selection of shops.
Cwmcarn Forest has some of the best walking in Wales. Choose from the 12 mile circular 'Raven Walk' encompassing Cwmcarn Forest and the Sirhowy and Ebbw Valleys or take the 'Coal, Celts and Contrasts' which takes in the impressive Twmbarlwm mountain or shorter walks in and around the forest.
