A warm welcome awaits you at Acorn Camping & Caravan Site, we are a small peaceful family owned rural site situated on the Heritage Coast. We are located approx. 1 mile from the local beach (Llantwit Major Beach or Colhuw Point) and 1 mile from the bustling town of Llantwit Major. Based in a wonderful countryside setting in the Vale of Glamorgan, we are a haven for nature lovers.
Our four-and-a-half-acre site is surrounded by farmland and all the pitches are individually marked, some with trees and hedgerows providing extra privacy and shelter. We are the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.
Guests have access to a range of excellent facilities. We have a shop which sells essentials, such as teabags, coffee, shower gel, toothpaste, etc. Children can have lots of fun at the play park which includes a climbing frame, slide and swings and a trampoline. The large shower block has a separate area for ladies and gents, with individual toilet stalls and shower cubicles in each section. Acorn Cafe is open from Wednesday - Sunday 9am to 2.30pm serving full Breakfast, Pancakes and a range of lunchtime options is available from 11.30am until 2.30pm. If you just fancy a cup of coffee & a slice of cake we are open until 4pm!
You can enjoy a more luxurious stay in one of our gorgeous shepherd huts. Each hut is beautifully furnished and comes with a double bed and bedside storage tables. Three of the huts have the option to have up to 2 children’s beds in them. Each hut has a small shelving unit with cutlery, crockery, a kettle and some tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There are also ice boxes and drinking water containers in each Hut. Outside in the glamping meadow there are BBQ’s available and the Huts are located within walking distance of the main shower and toilet block which is open 24 hours a day.
We also have self catering accommodation available in Acorn Lodge – please enquire for details.
Our campsite is located just over 15 miles from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. There is a local park and ride train service from Llantwit Major to the Millennium Stadium. There are so many places to visit within the area, from the spectacular Glamorgan coastline - Wales's first designated heritage coast, to the peace and tranquillity of the valleys with their fascinating history and industrial heritage.
