Throughout the summer, there is a weekly entertainment schedule, including live music, storytelling, and circus skills. There's also the option to add exciting outdoor adventures during your stay.
Located within Mendip Activity Centre, campers have access to over 25 outdoor activities. Choose from affordable self-led adventures like Frisbee Golf and FREE Orienteering, or book instructor-led experiences including climbing, tobogganing, caving, and watersports.
New for 2026: Mendip Mini Fests
As part of Mendip's 'Summer of Entertainment', Basecamp becomes a relaxed festival-style campsite, hosting six Mendip Mini Fests across the main summer holiday weekends. Included in the camping price and exclusive to campers, these family-friendly weekends combine the atmosphere of a small festival with the simplicity of camping.
Expect storytelling and acoustic music on Friday evenings, free educational workshops on Saturday mornings, face painting and family activities in the afternoon, and live headline bands performing on the brand-new Bandwagon stage on Saturday night. Sundays begin with yoga, followed by circus skills for the whole family.
Families can enjoy the giant sandpit, outdoor games and free activities, while The Pavilion campsite shop offers essentials, pizza, and local cider.
Perfectly located for exploring Somerset, Mendip Basecamp is close to Cheddar Gorge, Weston-super-Mare, Bristol, and Bath, meaning iconic Somerset landscapes, coastal walks and seasonal events like the Bristol Balloon Fiesta are within easy reach.
