Esme’s Escape is a luxurious, adult-only shepherd’s hut set in the Somerset village of Haselbury Plucknett, near Crewkerne. Guests can enjoy the peaceful feel of countryside glamping while still being just a short three-minute stroll from the friendly Michelin guide pub/restaurant, creating the perfect balance between seclusion and village life.
The beautifully designed hut sits in a quiet corner of the orchard and offers a cosy outdoor seating area where guests can relax and soak up the surroundings. Walkers will find Esme’s Escape an excellent base for exploring the area, with both The Liberty Trail and The Parrett Trail nearby, offering scenic routes through the rolling Somerset countryside.
Inside the shepherd’s hut you’ll find a comfortable double bed made up ready for your arrival, a cosy wood burner, and a well-equipped fitted kitchen complete with a hob, fridge, sink and kitchen essentials. The hut also includes an en-suite shower room with WC and hand basin, along with thoughtful extras such as complimentary robes, electric points and a hair dryer. Outside, guests can make the most of the patio area with deck chairs, or enjoy cooking outdoors using the log-fired pizza oven.
On arrival, guests are welcomed with a freshly baked cake and ingredients for a full English breakfast to enjoy on their first morning. For the ultimate indulgence, there is a luxurious log-fired hot tub where you can unwind beneath the open sky, the perfect spot to relax with a glass of bubbly and watch the stars come out. A chiminea is also available for cosy evenings outdoors.
