Set in a unique location on part of the former Holmsley Airfield from WWII, this New Forest campsite provides a stunning and distinctive base for camping holidays and outdoor adventures. Surrounded by ancient trees and adjacent to expansive heathland, it offers a peaceful retreat with 360-degree views of grazing ponies and abundant wildlife.
Situated close to the coastline, Holmsley is an ideal base for exploring the nearby sandy beaches of Christchurch and Bournemouth, as well as the winding tracks through the ancient woodlands of the New Forest. The campsite features a range of pitch options, including electric hook-ups, non-electric hardstanding and grass pitches.
Onsite amenities include a well-stocked shop and a takeaway, though opening times vary by season. Campers are reminded that barbecues must be purpose-built for cooking, sturdy and elevated off the forest floor to prevent damage, with disposable barbecues prohibited in line with the New Forest Action Plan. Outside the campsite, no barbecues of any kind are permitted in the New Forest.
For the safety of visitors and animals, please avoid feeding, petting, or approaching the wildlife around the campsite, as they can be unpredictable and may bite or kick. Keep all food securely sealed and out of reach of ponies.
Facilities include accessible amenities, battery charging, chemical disposal points, dishwashing stations, a dog wash, drinking water taps, electric razor sockets, laundry, a motorhome service point, play area, showers, toilets and washbasins. The campsite accommodates motorhomes, touring caravans, tents, trailer tents and offers seasonal pitches for extended stays. It is also dog-friendly, making it a perfect destination for the whole family.
