Caalm Camp in Stour Row near Shaftesbury is a family run rural retreat, nestled in a beautiful part of the Dorset Countryside. We have a collection of hand crafted yurts available to rent, providing luxury glamping accommodation that can sleep up to 6 people. Holistic therapies are available on site for those who want their stay to be extra special.
Our hand crafted yurts are perfect for those who want a romantic break, a friend’s reunion, family camping or a corporate function. The yurts are made out of lattice & bent wood, all named after wild flowers and brightly painted in a traditional style. All of our yurts are warm, comfortably furnished and include a double bed, 2 day beds, cushions, wood burning stove and plenty of place to relax, play games and enjoy the peace and quiet. At night time you can listen to the fox bark, the owls hoot and enjoy the night sky through the clear Perspex roof dome, perfect for star gazing. We have no large cities nearby so the sky is very darn and the stars are very bright & beautiful.
We know some of you can’t bear to leave your gadgets at home, so we have thoughtfully provided electric sockets, which means you also get electric lighting and a single ring hob so you can brew up a cuppa or boil an egg or two. Other facilities include:

Travel cots and highchairs can be provided on request for a small additional charge, but you will need to bring all your own cot linen.
Shaftesbury in Dorset is one of the oldest and highest towns in England, with many charming houses and cottages set upon its hilly streets. The famous Hovis bread advert was filmed here, at Gold Hill. The steep cobbled street is the very one up which the delivery boy trundles his ancient bicycle. There is a leisure pool here and a market on Thursdays. It has nice tea rooms and a couple of good restaurants and pubs. Its food festival is in May. There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding area and our location is a great base for exploring Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire.
