Headgate Farm is situated on Exmoor near the Devon and Somerset border. It is a working sheep farm and the camp site is surrounded by a mixture of friendly animals including: Donkeys, Horses, Sheep and a Kune Kune pig called Sam and other animals can be seen milling around including chickens, cats and working dogs.The Exmoor National Park, recognised as an International Dark Sky Reserve, the first in Europe and second globally, offers a unique experience where, on a clear night, you can gaze at the stars right from your bed, listen to the autumnal roars of red deer stags and wake to the melodious morning chorus of songbirds.
Our camping site, one of the most tranquil and private on Exmoor, boasts spectacular valley views. It is a certified location with the Camping & Caravanning Club, adjacent to the main farm. It features a well-equipped, heated shower and toilet block and a rest room with a seating area that includes informational materials. The grass site that has good sized pitches approx. 9m x 9m is kept mown and is a mixture of level and slightly sloping ground.

Whilst in a secluded setting, within a 5 minute drive from the site are several good local eateries and South Molton with a Sainsburys, Boots Chemist etc whilst Barnstaple and Tiverton are each 18 miles distant and the beautiful North Devon sandy beaches are about 25 miles away. Additionally, Junction 27 of the M5 motorway can be reached within a 30-minute drive.
There is also self catering and B&B accommodation onsite.
