Lundy Island Campsite is a basic but beautiful field available for a limited number of campers, just 11 miles from the North Devon coast. This remote and tranquil island is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.
The campsite on Lundy accommodates up to 40 people and is conveniently located in the heart of the village, close to the tavern and shop. Lundy’s unique beauty, tight-knit community, and tranquil way of life create an experience that feels like a world apart, leaving visitors wishing for more time to explore. The camping field features a shower block with toilets, showers, sinks for washing up, and a drinking water station nearby. Open fires, including Kelly kettles and firewood collection, are strictly prohibited due to fire risks. However, you are welcome to bring a gas stove for cooking; please hand the gas to a ship's crew member, as it must travel separately on deck in a locker. It will then be transported to the camping area along with your luggage and equipment. Launderette facilities available subject to availability and fees apply.
At the heart of the island is the Marisco Tavern, a lovely place for a drink or two at any time of day or night. Next door there is an island shop which is well-stocked.
Lundy is managed by the Landmark Trust and operates a ferry during the summer from Ilfracombe and Bideford, and a helicopter service in the winter.
