Alpaca Lodge & Glamping offers luxurious accommodation in the charming hamlet of Borden. Nestled within peaceful grounds near Sittingbourne, we are ideal for an idyllic holiday in Kent.
We have 3 glamping options to choose from, including The Piggery and 2 bell tents, all surrounded by countryside. You can meet our friendly alpacas, goats, rheas and peacocks which roam freely around. We also have pigs, chickens, ducks and dogs to see. You can take a dip in our covered, heated swimming pool open between 1st May to 30th September. Unwind in the barn, a vintage-themed space with also includes toys, games, dolls houses, table football and an Xbox.
The Piggery – Sleeps 4
Our pod sleeps up to 4 people and is furnished in a modern style. The pod comes with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. All bed linen and towels are included. Facilities include a small table and chairs, Freeview TV, internet connection, electric sockets with USB connections, bedside flexilights, room heater and tea/coffee making facilities.
Outside we have a picnic table and BBQ, offering a great spot for a coffee in the morning sun.
The Rhea Retreat and The Peacock Nest – Each Sleeps 4
You can stay in one of our bell tents, with each sleeping 4. Rhea Retreat has two single wooden framed camp beds and Peacock Nest has two single mattress beds. Both tents also have a double bed. All bed linen and towels are included. Facilities include mains electric points, a heater/fan, central lamp, coffee table and seating.
All our guests have use of a communal area with a fire pit, tables and chairs, set within a secret garden. The glamping units also have use of a shower and kitchen cabin which includes 3 wet rooms, with each offering a shower, toilet, basin and heating.
The fully equipped kitchen cabin comes with a range of appliances: full-size sink, cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. We also provide some essentials.

We are nearby lots of country paths, ideal for walkers. You can also enjoy a range of cycle-friendly footpaths including the Saxonshore Way, the Pilgrims Way and the South Downs Way. Only a short drive away are Whitstable and Canterbury. You can visit the villages of Smarden, Tankerton, Chilham and Pluckley. Attractions to visit include:
