Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Beechen Glamping is ideally situated at the midpoint of the historic route between Winchester and Portsmouth in Hampshire. It’s a perfect retreat to relax, unwind and immerse yourself in nature. Our two luxury camping tents, the Hazel Safari and Hawk Lodge, provide an inviting blend of outdoor living and modern comfort, complete with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Both the Hazel Safari Tent and Hawk Lodge are built on raised wooden platforms, offering insulation from the ground for year-round comfort. Each is equipped with a kitchen area featuring hot and cold running water, an electric two-hob cooker, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and a fridge. Inside, you’ll find comfortable beds, sofas for relaxing and dining areas with tables and chairs. Outdoor furniture is provided, so you can enjoy meals under the open sky. Electricity is available for LED lighting and plug sockets, making it easy to charge devices or play games indoors or out. There’s plenty of space to relax, play board games, enjoy a BBQ, or simply take in the peaceful surroundings.
Hazel Safari Tent
The Hazel Safari Tent is an 'ultimate family tent' with a spacious footprint of 6 metres by 11.5 metres. Inside, it boasts a large living and cooking area, a king-size double bed and a separate bedroom with a triple bunk, comfortably sleeping up to five guests. The tent includes its own hot shower and flushing toilet, ensuring privacy and convenience. The covered veranda provides an excellent indoor-outdoor space for dining and relaxation.
Hawk Lodge
The Hawk Lodge is a two-storey 'ultimate family tent' with an internal footprint of 7.6 metres by 5.4 metres. It features a unique upper floor, offering additional sleeping space for up to four people, alongside two king-size double beds below, accommodating up to eight guests in total. This makes Hawk Lodge an ideal choice for larger families or groups. Like the Hazel Safari Tent, Hawk Lodge includes its own hot shower and flushing toilet, as well as a covered veranda for versatile dining and leisure.
Beechen Glamping is surrounded by the picturesque Hampshire countryside and numerous local attractions. Just a 15-minute walk away lies the charming town of Bishop's Waltham, where you’ll find cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and traditional pubs. A 10-minute stroll up the lane takes you to the award-winning Hampshire Bowman pub, renowned for its real ales, ciders and home-cooked food. Within a 20-minute drive, you can explore the idyllic Meon Valley villages, as well as the historic cities of Winchester and Portsmouth.
Outdoor enthusiasts will delight in exploring nearby nature reserves, encountering wildlife such as hares, buzzards and deer, or walking and cycling for miles along the South Down Trails.
Set within the grounds of Beechen Stables, Beechen Glamping offers a unique farm experience with free-range chickens, geese, goats and horses. Guests are welcome to purchase fresh free-range eggs onsite. Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times to ensure the safety of the animals. Beechen Glamping is your perfect escape for a peaceful countryside adventure.
