Ocknell is a limited facility campsite with toilets but no showers, so plan accordingly. Rock pegs are strongly recommended for pitching tents due to the terrain.
Barbecues are allowed but must be specifically designed for cooking, sturdy, and raised off the ground to protect the forest floor. Disposable barbecues are not permitted, in line with the New Forest Action Plan and no barbecues of any kind are allowed outside the campsite.
To ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife, avoid feeding, petting, or approaching the animals. While they may appear friendly, they are wild and can bite or kick. Be sure to keep all food securely sealed and out of reach of the ponies.
Facilities at Ocknell include accessible amenities, battery charging, a chemical disposal point, dishwashing stations, drinking water taps, electric razor sockets and washbasins. The site also offers a motorhome service point, a rally field and a shop. There are pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans, tents and trailer tents. The campsite is dog-friendly and offers seasonal pitches, making it an ideal choice for a peaceful getaway.
