Matley Wood Campsite offers a truly immersive experience in the heart of nature, with its emphasis on simplicity and its stunning woodland location. This tranquil site is an excellent base for exploring the nearby picturesque villages of Lyndhurst, Ashurst and Beaulieu, making it a favourite among those seeking to connect with the natural world.
Perfect for nature lovers, the campsite invites you to unwind on your pitch while enjoying sightings of wildlife such as deer, foxes and birds of prey in their natural habitat.
We are a limited facility campsite with no showers or toilets, visitors must bring their own chemical toilets.
Barbecues are allowed but must be designed specifically for cooking, sturdy and elevated off the ground to protect the forest floor. Disposable barbecues are not permitted, in line with the New Forest Action Plan. Additionally, no barbecues of any kind are allowed outside the campsite within the New Forest.
For safety, please avoid feeding, petting, or approaching the animals in and around the site. While they may appear friendly, they are unpredictable and can bite or kick. Ensure all food is securely sealed and kept out of reach of ponies.
Facilities at Matley Wood include a chemical disposal point, drinking water taps and pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans, tents and trailer tents. The campsite is dog-friendly and also offers seasonal pitches for extended stays.
