Freshwinds in Watermill Lane, Hastings in East Sussex, offers the perfect camping experience in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 15 spaced pitches and 4 yurts, shepherd’s hut and a tiny house to choose from, ensuring we suit everyone’s needs.
Owl Yurt – The yurt is next to the pond and enjoys beautiful views of the valley and surrounding farmland. Facilities include a wood burning stove, double bed and 2 singles with bedding and pillows. There is a compost toilet and shower for your exclusive use.
Woodland Yurt – The yurt is next to the wood. There are two yurts here. The larger yurt has 4 single beds and comes with bedding and pillows. It has a wood burning stove and a camping stove. The smaller yurt has a double bed and comes complete with bedding and pillows. You also have your own compost toilet and shower.
Sunrise Yurt – This is our largest yurt and can sleep up to 6 people. It has a king size bed, and 4 single beds so plenty of comfortable sleeping options. It includes a wood burning stove and camp kitchen with two burner camping gas stove. Outside is a large decking area with table and chairs. The compost toilet is close by and the showers are a 5 minute walk away at the farm.
Valley View Yurt - This is the newest yurt and can sleep 4 people. Inside the yurt you have everything you need for a comfortable stay, a wood burning stove to keep you warm if it gets a bit chilly, double futon and two singles, with bedding and pillows for a restful nights sleep, a camping gas stove for that early morning cup of tea and of course cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. A small solar panel will provide you with light in the yurt and the ability to charge your phone with usb connection (weather dependant).
Shepherds Hut – The hut sleeps up to 2 people and is furnished with a double bed. It includes bedding, wood burning fire, table and chairs. Outside is a fire pit, seating and table. You also have use of a compost toilet.
Our 15 pitches include spaces in woodland glades and pitches in the field. We also have a therapy yurt available which provides onsite treatments and classes. Children will love our magical fairy trail.
Step outside your tent and enjoy the footpaths taking you in many directions, some of which can end at superb country pub. There are two pubs in Pett Village and two pubs in Icklesham Village. A short stroll away is Guestling wood which belongs to the Woodland Trust. We are just a 10 minute drive from Pett Level Beach. The medieval towns of Hastings, Battle and Rye are only a 20 minute drive away respectively. These towns are crammed full of interesting shops, lovely bars and cafes and buildings of historic significance.
