The Creel Yard Camping Pods offer a unique and affordable getaway on the Isle of Grimsay, North Uist, in the stunning Outer Hebrides. This picturesque destination is perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, beachcombers, cyclists and adventure seekers. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or an exciting escape, The Creel Yard provides cosy, budget-friendly accommodations with unforgettable experiences.
Double Pods
These are ideal for couples or solo travellers. Each pod features a comfortable double bed with scenic views, electricity with a double socket for charging devices and a small reading light. The outdoor space includes a private porch with camping chairs and a firepit and we can provide fuel for purchase. Privacy is assured as each pod is thoughtfully sited to ensure you won’t see another pod from your own. There are six double pods on-site, each offering the perfect blend of comfort and seclusion.
Family/Group Pod
For families or small groups this provides spacious accommodation with four single beds in two adjoining rooms. Bedding is included and the pod is equipped with WiFi. The large porch area is perfect for evening relaxation, complete with camping chairs, a firepit and ample space for barbecues. These pods are designed to be quiet, cosy and dark at night, offering a snug retreat during the long summer daylight hours or during the blustery spring and autumn seasons. We have one family/group pod available, making it a unique option for larger groups.
Overnighter Pods
These are a functional and comfortable choice for those exploring the Hebridean Way or the beautiful surrounding islands. Each pod includes two single beds in connected rooms, with bedding provided. Designed for restful sleep, these no-frills pods include electricity and WiFi. Cooking facilities and bathrooms are conveniently located just 10 metres away in the main building. While perfect for short stays, guests are welcome to stay longer. We have two Overnighter Pods available for travellers seeking simplicity and convenience.
Shared facilities at The Creel Yard enhance the experience for all guests. Our large, well-equipped communal kitchen and dining area make meal preparation easy and six modern bathrooms ensure comfort. Superfast WiFi throughout the site is perfect for remote work or staying connected. Outdoor amenities include a spacious decked area, ample parking and an EV charger. As part of our commitment to sustainability, much of the site’s electricity is solar-powered and we are continuously working toward eco-friendliness.
The Creel Yard Camping Pods are perfectly situated just 3 miles from The Hebridean Way Cycle and Walking Trails and close to Kallin Harbour. Nearby attractions include the Community Café and Post Office, the Boat Museum and Trail, Uist Wool Mill and Shop, The Salt Tunnels Visitor Centre, Kallin Shellfish Seafood Shop and Café, Lady Anne Wildlife Boat Tours and Hebridean Candles.
