Runach Arainn

Kilmory, Isle of Arran

Description

Runach Arainn is a lovely and romantic glamping site located just outside the pretty village of Kilmory on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Our site is the ideal base for families and couples in search of a short break or a longer stay.

We have two 20ft diameters, Scottish made Yurts that can sleep between 2 and 6 people and are available for hire all year round. Our yurts both boast the following features:

Luxury double bed plus two double futons for other guests.
Fully equipped with all you will need (towels, bedding and crockery) - just bring your clothes!
Wood burning stove/cooker (including an oven) for heat and cooking.
Insulated for year round comfort.
Private bathroom with shower (including a composting toilet).
Outdoor fire pit with cooking utensils and picnic bench.
Solar powered lighting.
Shared pot washing and laundry facilities (washing machine).
A romantic atmosphere!

Our site is set in a small orchard located near to the Old Manse just outside the hamlet of Kilmory. Along with the two yurts the orchard contains the bathroom block which houses private bathrooms for each and a shared laundry and pot washing facility (sink, washing machine, shared fridge, microwave and kettle). With COVID 19 we have provided independent washing up facilities so guests can remain totally independent if they wish (and do not need to use the communal utility room). We have been assessed and accredited with the AA COVID Confident certification. Parking for the site is a couple of minutes walk away and no cars are allowed on site making it safe for kids to run and play.

The Isle of Arran is about 20 miles long and 10 miles wide and sits in the Firth of Cylde. The 10 mile ferry crossing from Ardrossan takes 50 minutes - so we are less than 2 hours from Glasgow. For such a small island Arran contains a wide variety of sceneries and landscapes. To the North is the mountainous Goat Fell range - they may look benign from Brodick, but they are anything but. If you don't fancy the high level walks there are beautiful valley walks like Glen Rosa or more wooded walks in the South of the island like the Glenashdale Falls.

There are wonderful beaches all around the island - Blackwaterfoot in the West, Torrylinn in the South and Lochranza in the North. Cycling is popular all around the island. Mountain bikers can make use of the forest tracks that criss-cross the island whilst road cyclists can enjoy the 60 mile circular route around the island's coast road.
