Waterside House Campsite

Pooley Bridge, Penrith, Cumbria

Waterside House Campsite is in a beautiful part of Cumbria, on the northern shores of Lake Ullswater. The pretty village of Pooley Bridge is one mile from the campsite and can be easily reached by road or the lakeshore footpath.

Campers: All are welcome at the campsite however groups of adults or families looking from late nights and nightlife are discouraged as we have a strict noise curfew. Waterside House provides excellent facilities and a peaceful park in which to relax and enjoy your holiday in the midst of the Lakeland Scenery. If you select a non electric pitch you can choose your own pitch on arrival. This means your pitch is allocated on a first come first served basis. However, if you would like to know where your spot would be, then electric hook up may be the way forward. Our online booking system allows you to choose your preferred option.

Tipi Hire: For those who want a glamping experience our tipis are idea. Guests will need to bring their own bedding. They include additional luxuries such as:

Wooden floors with carpet.
Double futon bed.
Two single cube beds.
Throws, Rugs and Cushions.
Pots and pans and Cutlery.
Plastic storage box.
Wooden box.
Cooking utensils, sharp knives.
Cool box with ice packs.
Water carrier.
Plastic beakers.
Wooden bench for outside eating.
Fire pit.
Basket of logs.
Gas stove.
Brush and dustpan.
Fire extinguisher and alarm.

Camping Pods: For those who want a luxurious camping experience then you will love our pods. We have 6 unfurnished pods available which will comfortably sleep a family of four. Bring everything you would usually take camping with you except your tent. Our camping pods are like an upside-down boat, clad with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable French doors which, together with a smaller high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is an electric and USB socket, and lighting, as well as a heater and outside BBQ pad, exterior lights and decking area.

Our nearest town is Penrith which is within comfortable driving distance. Our campsite is perfectly positioned at the foot of Barton Fell, it is an ideal base for mountain biking, walking, sailing, fishing, and pony trekking.
