Parkgate Farm is the ideal destination for peace, tranquility, fresh air, open spaces, and adventure. Nestled in a valley with stunning views of the Wasdale and Eskdale fells, we offer a range of accommodations, including three luxury glamping cabins, five holiday caravans, and a cozy holiday cottage. From April to December, our campsite is open, featuring both electric pitches and a camping pod.
Parkgate Cabins
These two-bedroom cabins feature one double room and one triple-bedded room, along with a shower room and an open-plan living and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle. Outside, you'll find a dining area with a BBQ provided. The cabins are fully insulated and heated, with an electric wood burner in the living area for added comfort. Their elevated position offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding fells, making them ideal for families and couples.
Camping
Parkgate Farm offers nine spacious camping pitches, including five with electric hook-up, as well as one camping pod, with access to amenities such as family shower rooms, separate toilets, a washing-up area and a washing machine. Each pitch has parking for one car directly adjacent and a picnic bench for outdoor dining. We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs per pitch, though they must not stray onto other pitches. BBQs with legs raised off the ground are allowed, but disposable BBQs are prohibited due to fire risk.
Holiday Caravans
We offer five fully insulated and centrally heated holiday caravans, each featuring a private raised decked patio with beautiful views of the surrounding fells, perfect for outdoor dining. All of our holiday caravans are maintained to the same high standard.
Whin Rigg - Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms (one double and two twins).
Irton Pike & Latterbarrow - Both sleep 4 (one double and a small double sofa bed in the lounge area).
Mecklin & Tinkler Craggs - Both sleep 4 in two bedrooms (one double and a twin).
Surrounded by fields and woodland, Parkgate Farm provides the perfect setting for exploring, playing and building dens, or simply relaxing and enjoying the rich wildlife. Low-level walks and the high fells are easily accessible from our doorstep, along with a network of bridleways perfect for mountain biking and horse riding.
A hidden gem in the Western Lakes, Parkgate Farm offers a serene retreat where the only sounds are birdsong, the rustling of trees, and the occasional bray from one of our donkeys.
