Rydal Hall Campsite in Ambleside offers camping pitches, based in a peaceful woodland setting. We are perfect for singles or families looking for somewhere special to stay in Cumbria.
We are in a conservation area and offer 30 grass pitches. The pitches can accommodate 2 x 2-person tents or 1 x 4 family tents only. Additional pitches require a further charge. Please note, that we do not cater for campervans, trailer tents or motorhomes. Parking is only available in designated car parks near to camping pitches.
Onsite facilities include a shower and toilet block, with plug sockets available. You can enjoy light refreshments at the Old School Room Tea Shop. A bar is open in the evenings and serves a selection of bar meals.
We also have a bunkhouse that sleeps 28 people - please enquire for details.
Our campsite is perfect for exploring the small town of Ambleside, offering restaurants, shops and a cinema. There are lots of walks and hikes in the area, or you can take a ferry from Waterhead Pier to Bowness and Lakeside Pier. Attractions to visit include:
Stock Ghyll Force.
Rydal Mount and Gardens.
Loughrigg Fell.
National Trust - Hill Top.
Go Ape Grizedale.
