The Shepherds Hut offers outstanding glamping accommodation at Hetton Law. Based in picturesque countryside near Lowick, we are ideal for an idyllic romantic getaway. We are in a fantastic location for exploring Northumberland, with the ancient market town of Alnwick and the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed easily accessible by car.
Our charming shepherds hut sleeps up to 2 people and is great for nature lovers looking for somewhere special to stay. The hut is beautifully furnished and comes with everything you need for a memorable holiday.
The cosy and welcoming hut comes with a comfy double bed, the perfect place to rest your head at night after a day roaming the countryside. All bedding and towels are provided. A small table comes with chairs and we provide a kettle and stove style electric fire for the chillier months. The lovely en suite bathroom comes with a toilet, small sink, electric shower and underfloor heating to keep you toasty.
Next to the hut is the sunroom which comes with brand new cooking facilities, including a gas oven and hob, a sink with fresh water and a fridge with small freezer. A table comes with seating and there is a roaring log burning stove, with a complementary box of firelighters, kindling and wood provided. The sunroom is a lovely space for enjoying a leisurely meal over a glass or two whilst savouring the majestic views over the Kyloe Hills. Outside we also have a table with chairs, great for a morning coffee or a spot of al fresco dining.
North Northumberland is famous for its stunning beauty and clear skies. You can enjoy an array of activities in the area, including walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing. We are only 5 miles from Wooler which leads to the renowned Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland National Park.
History fans are spoilt for choice, with Northumberland brimming with history. You can visit Alnwick Castle), Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island or Bamburgh Castle which is nestled on a breathtaking stretch of sandy beach. A range of magnificent country house gardens are in the area and a short boat trip from Seahouses will take you to the Farne Islands where you can see magical sea life including seals and puffins.
