Description

Newton House Farm, a family-run working farm, is situated in the heart of the picturesque North York Moors National Park. Ideally located, it lies just 5 miles east of the charming fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay, 5 miles south of the popular seaside town of Whitby and is surrounded by endless stretches of breathtaking countryside. It’s the perfect base for exploring the area.

Our Glamping Pods offer a peaceful retreat for couples seeking a peaceful, relaxing getaway, while our well-situated campsite is ideal for families eager to explore the great outdoors.

Camping
Newton House Farm is a welcoming, tents-only campsite ideal for families, couples and individuals exploring the local area, with dogs also invited to enjoy the many nearby scenic walks. The site features a modern facilities block with underfloor-heated toilets, hot showers and a shared kitchen equipped with a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave, conveniently located near the pitches. Additional toilets are available on the camping field and the standard pitch price includes two adults and two children, with a maximum of six guests per pitch.

Unfortunately, our site is not suitable for those with mobility issues and vehicles cannot access the camping field due to National Park planning restrictions. However, trolleys are provided to help transport your camping gear from the car park to the pitches.

Camping Pods
Our camping pods offer families the fun and affordability of camping without the hassle of setting up a tent or worrying about unpredictable weather. Elder, Larch and Hazel pods, each accommodating up to five people, are fully insulated and equipped with beds, a fridge and a kettle, all while providing the same stunning valley views as the campsite. The centre sleeping platform folds away during the day for a spacious interior. Elder and Larch pods are on the main camping field, close to toilets and a short walk from the shared facilities block. Hazel Pod is nearer to the facilities block, close to the Glamping Pods. Guests should bring their own bedding, towels and cooking equipment.

Glamping Pods
Our site features two glamping pods, Bluebell and Snowdrop, both fully insulated with underfloor heating and multiple power sockets. Each pod includes a double bed, kettle and mini fridge for a comfortable stay. Bedding is usually provided, but guests can opt to bring their own when booking to reduce the cost of their stay. A separate facilities block provides exclusive access to a private underfloor-heated toilet and shower room.

Visiting the Area
The fishing town of Whitby offers activities and attractions for all ages. Climb the iconic 199 steps to explore the historic Abbey Ruins and St. Mary’s Church atop the East Cliff, take surf lessons in the North Sea, search for crabs in the rock pools, wander the cobbled streets of the Old Town, or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the seafront.
