Weardale Retreat Shepherds Hut offers luxurious glamping accommodation in Frosterley. Set in a spectacular countryside position, we boast stunning views across Weardale. We are near Bishop Auckland and perfect for hiking around the North Pennines or Durham Dales.
Our magical shepherd’s hut is beautifully designed to offer pure comfort and relaxation. Located on a working hill farm, we are a paradise for nature enthusiasts and offer glorious views in all directions.
Inside the hut, there is a comfy double bed, seating area, toasty wood-burning stove and a well-fitted kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. There is a contemporary shower room and the hut is furnished in quirky style, with touches of purple to tie seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
Outside the hut is a wonderful wood burning hot tub. A great place for a glass of bubbly whilst savouring the view. The firepit is a place to gather around whilst enjoying the starry night sky.
Nearby is the 14th Century Raby Castle or Auckland Castle Deer House. History fans can visit the Beamish open-air Museum and the stunning city of Durham is a short drive away. Further attractions to visit include:
