This small family run Caravan & Camping Park is located in an area of outstanding beauty in the Joyce Country and Great Western Lakes Geopark – 1 mile from the beautiful village of Cong in Connemara. Cong was the only village listed on TripAdvisor’s top 10 Irish destinations in 2018 & 2019. The village is an inland island surrounded by water, with quaint shops and cafes and historical ruins dating back as far the 12th Century. The Park is centrally located only 20 miles from the Wild Atlantic Way at Killary Harbour and 26 miles from Galway city and Westport – an ideal base from which to explore the west of Ireland.
The park is the ideal place to escape from the pressures of modern life and caters for campers, tourers and motorhomes. There are a number of sheltered places for campers with tents to pitch up and sheltered hardstanding and grass pitches for motorhomes, with 16 amp electricity. The Park has modern facilities including a shower block, a camper’s kitchen, sitting room, mini-cinema, laundry, BBQ area, children’s playground and free Wifi throughout. The John Wayne movie The Quiet Man is shown nightly in the mini-cinema as it was filmed in Cong.
The Park is 5 minutes walk from Ireland’s finest brown trout and salmon fishing on Lough Corrib and 10 minutes walk from the world famous Ashford Castle. Plenty of outdoor activities are available from kayaking, horse riding, cycling and walking routes through the 2,000 acres of woodlands that surround Cong.
Local maps of all the area’s highlights are provided at the Park free of charge.
