Barn Owl Camping is nestled in a picturesque location surrounded by open fields and teeming with wildlife. Situated in Suffolk, it is conveniently close to the charming villages of Felsham and Rattlesden, with Medieval Lavenham and the market town of Bury St Edmunds just a short drive away.
Spanning 10 acres of meadowland, this peaceful, family and dog friendly site offers a unique camping experience with options for wild camping or staying in shepherd's huts. Visitors can enjoy campfires, stargazing and the natural beauty of the abundant wildlife.
With only eight pitches spread across five acres, you’re assured ample space and privacy. Choose to set up in the main field or opt for a wilder camping experience at one of our meadow pitches. Caravans and motorhomes are welcome in the main field, while campervans may also pitch in the meadow when conditions permit.
You can stay in one of our two shepherd huts, Badger and Toad. Badger sleeps 2 in a king-size bed and up to two children in a bunk style double above. The Toad sleeps 2 adults in a king size bed and double sofa bed. Both huts come with a table, chairs and sofa bed, plus the use of a fire pit, picnic bench and shelter outside.
Onsite there is fresh water available from a designated tap, whilst a washing up area, two chemical toilets, two composting toilets and a gas operated shower are available.
We are in a great position for exploring the area. The market town of Bury St Edmunds can be reached within 20 minutes and home to shops, restaurants and attractions. The area has lot of cycling routes and the coast is an hour away. Attractions to visit include:
St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
Moyse's Hall Museum.
National Trust - Ickworth.
Nowton Park.
Abbey Gardens.
For more information please visit our website.
Pitches cost £20 per night (for up to 6 people per pitch in 1 unit). £20 per pitch no electric. £50 for hut.
We are a greener camping club site (people staying will need to have membership).
As a legal requirement we can only have five camper/mobile homes at once but as we already have 3 huts on wheels we can only take a further 2 at one time.
