Swattesfield Campsite in Stowmarket offers superb glamping and camping accommodation, set in the picturesque East Anglian countryside. Based near Thornham Magna in a tranquil part of Suffolk, we are the perfect place to escape from the pressure of modern life.
Our wonderful campsite offers pitches for tents and campervans. We don’t have set pitches, offering you the chance to pitch where you choose. Campervans are asked to pitch on the main field, whilst tents have the option of the glade or secret hide away in the woods. Pre-pitched tents are also available.
Bell Tents: You can enjoy a magical getaway in one of our two beautifully furnished bell tents, tucked away in the woods. The tents have been built on decking and have an Astro-turf interior to seamlessly blend the outdoors and indoors. The tents sleep 2 adults and 4 small children. Inside there is a comfy double bed with a memory foam mattress and Z bed and solid camp beds are also available. Kitchen equipment is available and outside there is a picnic table and firepit for al fresco dining whilst savouring the views. On the main filed there are 3 further tents available.
Suffolk Hay Cart: We offer delightful accommodation in our authentic Suffolk Hay Cart. The cart sleeps 2 adults and 2 children, great for an unforgettable holiday in the country. Inside there is a cosy log burner, table and chairs, plus two double memory foam bunks. Outside there is a canopy to shelter you from a drizzly day. A picnic table is a great spot for a morning coffee in the sun and a gas hob and an open fire are also available.
Pixie Huts: Our fabulous Pixie Huts are perfect for a relaxing getaway. Inside there are fully sized double beds for a restful night’s sleeps, side tables, a Pixie wardrobe and log burner for the winter months. LED lights create a lovely mood and outside there is a south-facing decking area, great for a glass of wine in the evening sun.
We are only a 15-minute drive for the charming market town of Diss, home to a gorgeous park, restaurants, takeaways, local cafes and much more. Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens offers a brilliant family day out and includes a 4 railway lines and beautiful gardens. See the amazing wild animals at Banham Zoo or learn about the area’s history at the Museum of East Anglian Life. Excellent attractions to visit include:
